Republic Day Songs

Republic Day is one of the most significant occasions amongst the three national holidays in India. On 26th January 1950, India enforced its Constitution and achieved its pledge of becoming a totally sovereign, democratic and republic nation. The day is of great importance as the nation gained its true independence on this very day. The holiday is celebrated with immense joy, fervor, zeal and enthusiasm. Grand events and programs are organized depicting love and patriotism for India. Regional celebrations take place in every Indian state that includes the flag hoisting and cultural and folk events.

However, what captures most eyeballs is the grand celebration witnessed in the capital city of the country, New Delhi, where a massive parade is held. The parade starts from the President's Palace and walks past the Rajpath and India Gate, ending at the Red Fort in the Walled City of Old Delhi. The day reminds the Indians about the sacrifice of the martyrs who died for the freedom of the country and the succeeding wars. The nation is engulfed with patriotic songs being sung and played through the streets. Apart from that, electronic media such as radio and television also revel in the glory of nationalism and unity by playing patriotic songs. In this section, we have brought some popular patriotic songs that you can take a look at.
